PETA is offering new face masks after the news about the first confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States hit the headlines.

The masks protect against pathogens while spreading a lifesaving message: Go vegan.

Coronavirus has already killed at least 81 humans in China and infected thousands around the world.

It is believed that the new virus has originated in the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan, China—a “wet market” where animals are sold for human consumption. Meat carries a high risk of contamination from pathogens—including E. coli, campylobacter, and salmonella.

The first four U.S. cases have been confirmed in Arizona, California, Illinois, and Washington.

PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said: “Filthy factory farms, slaughterhouses, and meat markets threaten the health of every human being on the planet by providing a breeding ground for deadly diseases like coronavirus, SARS, bird flu, and more.”

“PETA’s face masks urge everyone to protect themselves by avoiding meat like the plague.”

The ‘Go Vegan’ face masks are available to pre-order here.
