Candy Kittens Entire Range Is Now 100% Vegan

Candy Kittens announced that its famous product range is now fully vegan.

Candy Kittens which are known for blending big flavours and honest ingredients have announced that their whole range went totally vegan!

The brand says that creating a vegan range has always been an ambition for them as they consider sustainability to be a top priority. Candy Kittens’ aim has always bee to create a responsible business, leaving the planet a better place.

The company has taken a long time to develop a new vegan formula for Eton Mess, free from beeswax, as it did not want to jeopardise flavour or quality.

In 2021 the Candy Kittens realised a long-term goal, achieving Carbon Neutral status, both as a business and with their product range. The company works with a series of VCS certified carbon offset projects supporting environmental causes such as forest protection project in Peru, which works with locals to preserve the rainforest, with Plastic Bank to reduce the amount of plastic entering our oceans and a wind farm in the Philippines.

Additionally, Candy Kittens is working to lower their emissions across their business and supply chain. The production process, which used to be the largest contribution to the carbon footprint, is now carbon neutral and has been helping the brand to lower its environmental impact since 2020.

The company is now focused on implementing a sustainable packaging for the entire product range, and finding a more sustainable way of transport.

Brand's co-founder and MD, Ed Williams, commented: “Eton Mess was the final piece in the puzzle, and I’m delighted that we’ve reached this 100% vegan milestone. More than simply removing an ingredient, we’ve redeveloped the entire process to ensure our Gourmet Sweets give consumers the very best sweet without any compromise on quality – sweets don’t need meat!

“The vegan food and drink sector has been growing exponentially and following COP26 and consumers’ growing environmental concerns it is anticipated to continue on this trajectory throughout 2022. Candy Kittens knows that its audience is well aligned with their core missions, so have always felt it was essential that their entire range was accessible to all.

“Candy Kittens sources honest ingredients, refusing to use palm oil or animal gelatine in any of its products, and now as the brand announces the new Eton Mess formula, it is proud to be fully vegan. Without compromising on the fantastic Candy Kittens taste that consumers know and love.”
