Perhaps you are new to veganism and are passionate about advocating for animals, or perhaps you’re a long-term vegan that has decided they want to explore different advocacy methods to end farmed animal suffering; either way you are here as you’d like to advocate a vegan lifestyle, which is great. As passionate vegans for the animals, we wanted to share our top 5 advocacy methods; hopefully there is a method suited to everyone!

1. Leaflet

Leafleting is one of the quickest and most effective forms of animal activism! We appreciate it may seem daunting to hand a leaflet to a stranger, but once you’ve handed out a few booklets you will likely get into the swing of it! If leafletting alone is a daunting thought, leaflet with a friend or get in touch with a local animal advocacy group. Remember that even if just one person goes vegan after being handed a leaflet, this prevents many animals from suffering!

2. Cooking Delicious Vegan Food

The vegan foodies that we are at TVK, we are very enthusiastic when it comes to promoting the vegan lifestyle through delicious vegan food! Why not cook for your loved ones and show them how delicious and simple vegan food can be? Head over to our recipes section and online vegan supermarketfor inspiration!

3. Set Yourself A Fundraising Goal

Why not set yourself a personal goal and set up a fundraising page through which people can support your goal through donations to an animal non-profit organisation? If you’re not sure which organisation to fundraise for, head over to Animal Charity Evaluators for recommendations on the most effective animal charities.

4. Be A Vegan Buddy

Do you know someone who is interested in veganism? Why not reach out and offer your support? Going vegan can seem a little overwhelming, especially if you lack supportive friends and family. In our experience, and so many others, having a support network is invaluable when going vegan. Having an experienced vegan to ask for recipes, shopping tips and even just to discuss animal rights with can be a huge help!

5. Advocate Online

Perhaps the thought of leafleting is just too daunting, and that’s okay. Why not advocate utilise social media channels to advocate online? Whether it is updating people on your vegan journey, linking articles to updates in the animal advocacy movement or encouraging people to take a vegan pledge month, an online voice for the animals can be very powerful. Some people will also find it easier to reach out for help online rather in person, which means that your type of advocacy is perfect for them!

Let us know how you get on! We are certain that you will be a great advocate for the animals.
