What Is Citric Acid?
Critic Acid occurs naturally in citrus fruits and is often found on sweets as it is very sour; unlike sweets, citric acid is a very practical to have around. Our citric acid is food grade and perfectly suitable for consumption, but it is also a very useful household product too, with its strong acidity making it a very suitable cleaning agent.
Why Should I Get Citric Acid?
Given its strong acidity it does a wonderful job cleaning limescale especially as it is not harmful to humans; and being super water soluble with no discernible odour, it is easily washed away without leaving so much as a trace! This makes citric acid perfect for cleaning kettles and other equipment for handling consumables and food.
To clean with Citric Acid, it is recommended to fill a spray bottle with hot water, using two generous tablespoons per litre. Shake and spray on surface, before wiping clean. You can increase the concentration by double for tougher stains, or better yet, mix some extra ingredients like apple cider vinegar.
Citric acids versatility does not stop there as you can even use it to bathe! By mixing two parts sodium bicarbonate and one part citric acid, you will have produce an effective bath bomb that will leave you relaxed and at peace during bath time.
